Urban explorers in China came across something very odd a few years ago. They stepped inside an old, abandoned house and discovered something absolutely bizarre…

The white, painted walls of the empty house were covered from top to bottom in cryptic writing.

If you’ve seen The Number 23, this might look a little familiar.

This must have taken ages to complete.

…and there’s something so unsettling about all of it.

Looking closely, some symbols appear to be old and worn, while others look new and fresh.

The lightning bolt symbol (upper right hand corner) appeared multiple times throughout the house.

…I do NOT want to know what those instructions are for.

Looking at all of this frantic, obsessive writing gives me the creeps…remind me not to go exploring in Chinese abandoned houses any time soon.
