A Brilliant Guy Transformed This Old TV Cabinet Into Something I"m Truly Jealous Of

Back in the late ’90s and early 2000s, you probably had a television set with a cathode ray tube in it. These TVs were bulky eyesores, so many people dressed them up with an entertainment system or media cabinet. Now that lightweight, thin LCD TVs are the norm, you may have an old, now useless media cabinet lying around the house. Before you donate it to Goodwill, check out Redditor Perma4‘s upcycled entertainment system creation. He recycled his piece of recent history into a useful and gorgeous piece of furniture. Check out the process and finished product below.

Here’s what the entertainment system looked like before he made any changes.

Starting out, he removed the shelves, drawers, and door.

He needed to make the system shorter, so he prepped to cut off some of the height.

Even if you’ve already gotten rid of your retro entertainment system, you could probably find one at a thrift store for under $50. This DIY project is so cool, I might have to try it out myself!
