These Awesome Acts Of Kindness Saved The Lives Of Duck Families Across Australia

Since 1980, the kind folks over at Animals Australia have been working hard to make sure all of the furry, feathery, and scaly friends in nature have protection and are treated with the respect and compassion they deserve.

The organization aims to inspire everyone to treat the animals they see with generosity and good will. And their mission seems to have worked, judging by this compilation of life-saving heroes they’ve observed over the years giving assistance to various duck families across the country.

These heroes definitely restore my faith in the kindness of humans. No matter how small the life may seem, we can all chip in to keep animals safe, happy, and healthy.

A Puppy Had A Hard, Plastic Container Stuck On His Head For Two Months

When an animal is homeless, they have to fend for themselves on the streets or in the wild. That means digging through trash to find food and burrowing into garbage to find shelter. Sometimes, during that struggle to live, tragedy can strike.

This German Shepherd mix had been wandering the streets for two months with a plastic jug stuck on his head. Luckily, kind strangers stepped in to save him. He is now appropriately named Bucket, and has exchanged the constricting container it had on its head for a loving home, but that doesn’t make their story any less harrowing.

This poor puppy looks so shaken. I can’t say that I blame them. I don’t know what I’d do if I had to walk around with a jug like that on my head for two months. I definitely wouldn’t be this calm and collected, that’s for sure.

I’m glad the poor puppy is free and living with a nice family, but I still feel so bad for Bucket. It’s a good thing people like Audra Bohannon exist or else this dog would probably still be trapped. What a tragedy that would have been.

This Cheap And Easy Cat Shelter Can Help Save Homeless Kitties Lives This Winter

Winter is rough on strays. Cats are often found seeking shelter in garages, gutters, and inside car hoods or on top of tires. The latter can become dangerous for them when we find ourselves rushing to make it to work in the morning and they go unnoticed…Until it’s too late.

This Reddit user was inspired by a couple of homeless cats found wandering around her neighborhood looking for a place to stay warm as the temperature starts dropping. Instead of forcing them to fend for themselves, they decided to build this inexpensive and easy to assemble shelter. They even uploaded the steps for anyone who wants to help out their own neighborhood felines.

Start by cutting a cat-sized hole in the front of the tub.

The comments suggest also providing a second entry/exit in case other, more aggressive animals attempt to box the helpless cats inside. The user also explained how they always attempt to bring the strays in for spaying or neutering in order to keep from creating new generations of homeless animals. It’s an amazing way to help these poor things even if you’re unable to take on adopting them into your life permanently.
