This Star Wars Sled Was Built Entirely Out Of Cardboard And Duct Tape

Now that it’s starting to snow in parts of the country, it’s time to start preparing for a favorite winter pastime: sledding.

There’s nothing like zipping down a snow-covered hill at blinding speeds. When you’re going for speed, your sled’s function usually matters more than its style. Though in some cases, style goes a long way.

Some sledders use plastic or wooden sleds. Others use air-filled inner-tubes. The most epic sledders make their own sleds. Reddit user fortyozjuicebox posted an awesome sled he built himself modelled after a speeder from Star Wars. 

It started out as extra cardboard and duct tape, the first ingredients of any awesome DIY project.

The cardboard and duct tape had to be meticulously put together and placed. There are no short-cuts when making a sled.

Here’s when the sled really started to look like the speeder from the movie.

This guy even put the work in to include the exhaust and grid on the back of his speeder-sled.

After the construction of the sled was complete, it was time to get down to the painting.

The time this took was well worth it. The detail put into this is absolutely awesome.

This is an amazing paint job. The colors are perfect.

This is an epic sled. I don’t think it could have turned out much better.

 This might be the first time in my life when I feel obligated to make my own sled. Compared to this, I’ve been seriously slackin’.
