CANDi International photographer Tracey Buyce came upon a special dog named Luna in Bonfil, Mexico. Tracey found the poor dog to be nothing but bones and skin. Luna desperately needed help, so Tracey managed to convince the dog’s owner to relinquish Luna over to her care.
After an examination from a volunteer veterinarian, she was diagnosed with starvation and a treatable cancer. Luna’s story has an incredible ending, as she found a loving family more than a thousand miles away in upstate New York to take her in.

What an incredible transformation from near death to the bundle of joy she is now. This truly shows that, with some good care and a lot of love, happy endings are possible.
