This FSU Student"s Library Books Saved His Life During A Random Shooting

Recently, at Florida State University, there was a very scary and serious situation. A man armed with a gun entered the university’s library with the intent of taking the lives of innocent students. After injuring 3 people, the man was shot and killed by police officers. We should keep those who were injured in our thoughts, and be thankful that more harm wasn’t done by the shooter.

One FSU student, three hours after the shooting, opened up his backpack and realized how truly lucky he was.

This is the bullet that was fired at Jason Derfuss. Miraculously, he survived.

The bullet had gone straight through his backpack as he was walking with his back turned to the shooter.

Luckily, Jason had just checked out two books: a primary and secondary text of the philosopher and theologian John Wycliffe.

The bullet fired by the shooter went straight into these two books in Jason’s backpack.

Without these two books in his bag, Jason would’ve been seriously hurt.

As soon as the bullet hit these books it began to slow down, and because of where the books were and how they were placed in his bag, they stopped the bullet before it could hurt Jason.

Jason is very lucky that he is okay and is surely very thankful that he was not hurt.

This horrible situation’s outcome could have been much worse, as Jason surely knows. Be sure to keep anyone affected by these events in your thoughts.
