Astronauts On The International Space Station Play Around With A GoPro Camera.

What happens when you put a GoPro camera inside a water bubble…in space?

This is the awesome question that NASA astronauts Steve Swanson and Reid Wiseman (along with European Space Agency/ESA astronaut Alexander Gerst) wanted to answer during Expedition 40 on the International Space Station. The experiment they conducted this past summer was a way to explore the phenomenon of water surface tension in microgravity.

The crew “submerged” a sealed GoPro camera into a floating ball of water the size of a softball and recorded the activity with a 3D camera. It turns out the results were all kinds of awesome!

I feel like this video perfectly illustrates the joy of scientific discovery. They looked like they were having such a blast.
