Artist Ernest “Mooney” Warther from Dover, Ohio, spent a great deal of his life learning how to carve wood. Wood carving was his passion. One item he was able to quickly and masterfully carve was a pair of wooden pliers. Each of his pliers require only ten cuts, which turns them into amazing creations.
After Warther crafted 511 pliers, he opted to create something more grandiose with his piles of pliers. This resulted in something truly beautiful.
Warther pieced the 511 pliers together, creating a tree structure. This required 30,000 individual cuts, taking a long time to create.
Interestingly enough, each branch of the tree also functions as a working plier.
Although he became enamored with locomotives after completing this project, his initial work stands the test of time in a museum dedicated solely to his work.
