Any dog owner knows that your pet will be with you through thick and thin, sickness and health. After all, they are man’s best friend. Even after you’ve left them home alone the whole day while you’re at work, or fed them a little late, or forgot their birthday, they still love you unconditionally.

When his owner was picked up in an ambulance in Goiana, Brazil, this dog took off after the truck.
He maintained a steady clip, trying to keep up with the truck.
The drivers yelled at him to give up, go home.
Soon, though, he began to show signs of exhaustion. When the drivers realized he wasn’t going to make it to the hospital…
They let him into the back of the truck with his owner!
When they arrived at the hospital, the dog waited patiently next to his owner.

While there’s no word yet as to how the story ended, we do know one thing: The dog’s owner was in and out of consciousness and saw that his best friend was by his side. If that’s not comforting, I don’t know what is!
